Re: Antifreeze?

I belive it is a closed cooling system, It has a little tank with a radiator cap in front of the motor. What kind of coolant does it take ( OMC 4.3) Do you just fill it till it reaches the top of the cap?

Thanks for the quick reply =)

Re: Antifreeze?

Takes standard ole green antifreeze. AKA ethelene glycol, regular old green antifreeze (Prestone is an example)
Fill it till its full, and make sure the engine is either level or front high.

Why is it empty?????

Re: Antifreeze?

You don't drain the antifreeze side, only the raw water side. Raw water freezes, antifreeze doesn't (if mixed properly)
Sounds to me like you are doing a lot of things without any knowledge of WHY any of it is done. That, my friend, is dangerous. You are just blindly changing things.

Re: Antifreeze?

woulda done better to leave the antifreeze (if it was actually properly mixed) in over the winter....
Make sure you mix it 50/50 with water, or buy the ripoff stuff that's already premixed.

Ayuh,.......

Was the boat given a Full Service,+ Tune-Up at winterization,.......
Or is that going to happen a the Spring Recommissioning,..??

You own a boat powered by a Long Gone Company, with failing Parts Support,+ the Old Timers who used to work on them,... Aren't anymore...
And,.....
Your boat is an Odd-Ball even more so because it's Closed Cooling......
Is it an Aftermarket system,..??
You've gotta take Care of that old OMC,....... They Don't make'm Anymore......

or buy the ripoff stuff that's already premixed.

Ayuh,.....
I've been seeing that,...eh,.... Stuff,..... In the convenience stores for about a year or so now.......
