Lowrance Fuel flow sensor hose size?

Hello, I am trying to attach a lowrance fuel flow sensor to my new below deck tank. Right now I currently have 5/16 hose running from the tank to a primer bulb to the engine. I see the connector needs a 3/8" hose. Should I re-do my entire fuel lines in 3/8"? This is for a Mercury 1977 115HP Engine.
