Default 1995 200HP Evinrude VRO pump ?

I am having a problem with this engine. From the first time I ran it this year, it will not stay running after I get it started. It will run for a minute or 2 then peters out and dies. I have replaced the spin on fuel filter/ water seperator and the in line fuel filter in the engine. When I hooked up an external fuel tank, it ran a little longer but still died. The primer bulb does not collapse and the fuel restriction (vacuum) alarm does not sound. I did notice two things however. The clear in line filter always has some air trapped in it, and goes dry before the engine stalls. Also, if I squeeze the primer enough times, I get some gas leaking from the top of the VFO assembly from what looks like a vent. I'm not sure it really is a vent, however. I have found OMC part numbers for VRO repair kits that include diaphrams and rubber gaskets, but I have not been able to locate anyone who has these kits. I'd hate to gamble $300.00 on a pump that may not be the problem. If I was sure it was the VRO pump, I'd bite the bullet and get one.
Am I on the right track about the VRO pump? Does any of this sound familiar? Anyone know where I can get the VRO repair kit?

Jim, Your problem could be as simple as an air leak in the gasoline line. Check the fuel screen where it screws onto the vapor seperator. Make sure the oring and gasket are in good shape. Check the pulse line and pulse limiter and make sure they are clean and seal properly. I assume the clear inline fuel filter is aftermarket? If you have a water seperating fuel filter you do not need any other filters. Remove all the aftermarket ones, and use one piece fuel line to eliminate leakage points.

VRO's do NOT leak or vent, replace the pump.
