high idle ?

i just rebuild the carbs and she started right up sounds great but now the idle seems a littl higher then normal , and the linkage is all the way down so i can adjust it there , how else can i adjust the idle

my engine is a 235 hp 1982 johnson

I am not familiar with your engine but is the low speed jet adjustable? try to "richen up" the low speed. more fuel to air ratio. just a guess

is your idle stop screw coming all the way back to the stop. if not cable adjustment.

the screw is all the way down , and the cable adj dosent hold th linkage down so i dont know , does any one know hoe to richen it up ? what screw that is

When you say the screw is all the way "down" do you mean it's all the way turned "in" or "out". I believe it needs to come out to lower idle RPM.

But first things first, did you do a link and synch since re-instaling the carbs?
