Hi. i need to replace the outer transom board on a 10' aluminum boat (completely gone). it is only about 12" sq. is there an alternative to marine plywood? or does anyone know where i can buy one? or a small piece? i don't want to buy a 4x8 piece.

Hardware stores generally have a spot for "cut" pieces of various sizes.
For what you want, exterior plywood, primer, and paint.
