I have a 50 hp Force outboard on my aluminum boat. I want to push the boat off the trailer to work on it, but I want to lock the motor up. It has power tili, but it doesn't hold for that long. Is there a way to lift the motor like a non-power tilt unit and lock it in place?

I don't know if this will help but here goes. I have an 85hp without power tilt and it has a lever on the left side of the mount with a slot in it. A knob (for lack of a better term) runs in the slot as you move the motor up and down. It also has a cutout 90 degrees to the regular slot. If you lift the engine all the way up and lift up the lever so the knob goes into the 90 degree slot, it will hold the engine up. This lever is flat steel and is not too noticeable. I never noticed it until I was removing the LU to change the water pump.
