Yes there are, but it would depend a lot on what outdrive you have.

Thanks,
I just replaces impeller and all gaskets.

When you put the impeller in do you bend the blade counter clock wise or clock wise??

When you pull ther old impellar out the blades should be bent and stay that way since its worn in. Put the new impellar in with the blades bent in the same direction. You could even put the lower unit in gear and turn the prop in the correct rotation to turn the drive shaft, this will tell you what direction the blades would be swept in when the impellar is spinning.

I didn't notice which way the blades were bent when I removed the old impeller. If I didn't put the impeller in the same direction, can this be harmful?

With an Alpha I, the vanes will turn the right way after one revolution. Had you had an Alpha I Gen II, that would have been a problem.
