Default Stuck in forward 79 mariner 30hp commander controller.

Hey all. Haven't had the boat out for a while, took it out yesterday and as I came back into the jetty It wouldn't go into neutral, I gave it a bit of a nudge and it felt like something gave. SYMPTOMS, Now the throttles just got a lot of play in the neutral gear, won't go into neutral, so at the moment its stuck in forward, I can still throttle up but it won't get full throttle, I could change gear manually from the powerhead at first but now that appears to be stuck as well, I took the commander off to see if I could see anything in their but it all appears allright although when you move the control arm the shift cable does nothing but the throttle cable still works. I'll have to give it a good clean up tommoz to have a good look but i'm wondering if I should be looking in the gearcase, not in the controller, Thanks for your help.
Matt.

Default Re: Stuck in forward 79 mariner 30hp commander controller.

I have disconnected the cable at the powerhead and it is shifting allright manually, the controller must be the culprit. The cable was a bit seized I loosened it up a bit pushing and pulling it manually but that doesn't seem to be the prob, when I shift the control arm, the shift cables or the linkage are just not moving at all, it looks as though something is suppose to push/pull the shift linkage as you move the control arm but its just not happening, Anyone had any experience with these.
