So what products do you use to get barnacles off the outdrive. We got an acid based product for the gelcoat, but it seems to be real harsh and I want to avoid using it on the outdrive if there is something better out there. So what do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance.

So the best bet is to sand it down and paint it? If thats the case, could I use the acid wash I have to get the barnacles off, then send it down and paint it up again?

Acid will be fine to start with. If it doesn't take it off, you might try a Scotchbrite pad before you actually go removing all the paint.
