A little help?

Hey guys, I have a 15ft del magic trihull with a mercury 80 2 stroke outboard. I got the motor running good but at WOT i only get 4000 rpm.

I am thinking I should be getting another 1000 rpm or so right?

the prop is 17dia. x 19 pitch aluminum. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Your prop isn't 17 "diameter.Most likely 13 3/4 " X 19.or close.
First thing needed is the year of the motor,Check compression,Be sure throttle opens all the way,be sure it is running on all cylinders. be sure the prop is in good shape..Check the setup.Starting with the antivent plate (just above the prop)even with the bottom of the boat raise the motor one hole at a time untill just before venting becomes a problem.Difficult to evaluate the performance without
rpm, gps speed.and actual prop size.
