Thanks Benny I have the motor apart and I think the block will be good but Pistons not so great the skirts are thin so I have to Buy new Pistons.

So HERE IS A DEBATE What type of Pistons do People recommend and what would be the average price??

are you boreing all cyls are you just gonna hone and replace pistons
bores need to be miked and checked by machnist
fsaztbulet knows what best for ap. and can probaly get you the right pistons
provided he knows what kind of bore clearence the bores can look good but be out of round hard to just look and know if they are good they have to be checked for roundnes and bore size ,you dont want to spend that kind of money and end up with a motor that has improper piston to wall clearence
end gap must be checked on ring during assembly even if machine work is fresh to make sure that the machnist didnt over hone . you dont want a loose piston in bore it will not live long and you will have spent a lot of money
you need factory manual to do rebuild and you will need to follow it to a t
double checking everything, all the tollerencse must be met for proper rebuild

I had a problem gettin my flywheel off with the puller I bought from the parts store. I did manage to get it off by putting a shovel handle on the underside of it, and smackin the handle with a hammer. Allowin the shovel handle to pop the flywheel up and off it's seat. Just don't use anything solid, don't wanna tweak or bend that flywheel at all.

My Heads are fine other than the fact a ring failed in one of the cylinders and put indents in the top of the head, I think this should be fine what do you think?

The cylinder's were good even the one that the ring went on was Ok it must have bounced around and went thru the exhaust. Two other pistons were starting to drag but didn't harm the cylinder. Looks like I caught it in time I will try to post a picture of the head later today.

good deal get the machinst to give you finished bore diameters
and post them d hadley or faztbulet will know what to use with the tolerances you have .or ask your machinist what he recomends
fazt bullet gets some good piston prices and there are several on ebay
last month they had some factory evin standard bore pistons with rings
for 30 a piece see if they know what came out of the holes they were standard correct then you will need to replace with a factory stand piston probaly .im not and engine guru i know that you need to match the right piston to the right bore tolerance because of expansion of different type pistons ,your machinist should know what to run in your bore .
then you will be able to shop around .
if you want to know more about waht brands are out there faztbulet
d hadley are probaly the one that can tell you whats what
my bore job was setup for brp replacement pistons
but had i chosen to run wiesco or another brand
the finish bore may have changed .you may want to confir with the machinist
see what he recomends for holes ya have then post what he tells ya
if they thinjk you need to change your head let me know your part number
for that head port or starboard and i will try to just mail it to ya
im new to this outboard stuff havent done but a couple of rebuilds
this is the first 6 cyl i have done ,lots of stuff to watch out for
just when you think you have it it bites you again
