anyone have any input on a 1986 Evinrude Sea Drive 175...is this a good motor?

If it was properly maintained any evinrude is a good engine.
Do a compression test and hear it run before you buy.
Should be 100+ and all cylinders within 10 %
Check lower unit for water intrusion.
Or just take it to a marine mechanic that someone has actually used and have it checked out by a pro, whatever it costs will be cheaper than any repair you would need.

I have a pair of 1988 V-4 Sea Drives & have had no problem with the Sea Drive units in the 12 years I've had this rig. Folks will tell you that parts are difficult to find for the drive. You also have ot mount it just right the first time as the engine height is not adjustable.
