Thumbs up 115 Evinrude O/B water leak?

HI everyone I am new to boat maintenance, this is my second year with my 79 Campion, I was told by guy that winterized it to just hook up gas line and crank it up, so I did the other day with a flush kit, and she started great and sounded good but I noticed some water trickling down from an area I had not noticed last year, I am not up on engine parts but I would say water was coming from under a cover on the upper leg, to the touch the water trickling was warm, water was streaming strong from the "pee hole" and engine did not smell hot, so I put her in the water yesterday she seemed to run great, but I noticed when engine was working hard water was being blown out of two holes on back of motor, the manual said these holes are exhaust overflow? Any Ideas opinions I appreciate. I tried to post a word document with photos pointing to areas of concern but I just signed up, so may take a while. Thanks Danny in BC

at idle it will blow water out the relief ports. even when running fast.
you can up load to a free service like photobucket.com then you choose the pictures you want( clik the little box at the bottom left of the picture) scrool to the bottom of the page, clik generate html, it will take you to the next page, scroll down to thumb nails clik on that and copy, then insert it into your post.

also if you are planing on posting pictures, you can use the Blue post reply or the go advanced, manage attachments, there you can upload , directly from your computer. besure you pictures have been resized to fit the format.

The symptoms you describe are indicative of a cooling system that is functioning within normal parameters.

If you boat year-round, you should tilt the motor upright for a few minutes to let the powerhead drain completely before trailering home in freezing weather.

If you don't, you'll want to put something (stabil, seafoam) in the gasoline to preserve it, and run the engine enough to let the treated gas in there.

Something else I like to do to prepare for winter is to change the gear oil before the first hard freeze (usually just before Christmas ), so in case of water intrusion it won't crack open the gearcase.
