went garage salin today and picked up a minn kota extreme 42# thrust. thing runs great. hope $20 was a good deal. i can't seem to find any info on this unit. does anyone out there have any experience with this motor? is it ok for salt or brackish water? good unit? anyone know of a place on-line to download instruction manual? i can't seem to find any info on line. anyone even heard of the extreme mdl? thanks....captn-tin

It will work just fine in salt water. Just be sure to rinse it off with fresh water after every use.

The manual doesn't have a lot of useful information other than a parts schematic.

I've been using one for 10 years and works great - until the other day when my son forgot to lift it out of the water before getting underway. Mine has a unique bracket called a KotaStow that MinnKota says they don't have the parts available anymore.

Does anyone know where a used bracket might be available...
