I'm in the process of replacing the cockpit floor in a 21 foot Rinker Cuddy. New decking will be 3/4 inch marine ply held with glue and silicon bronze screws. Need advice on fibreglassing in the deck and in the final finish. I would like to have the final surface be non-slip so that I don't have to re-install carpeting. thanks.

after you glass in the deck...it will be the color of glass......what color do you want?.......

try a good paint and sprinklel sand in it....the guys here can give you some suggestions on the best kind of marine deck coat......

but the deck still needs to be glassed in

Thanks. What I'd like to end up with is the finished deck that is just like current fibreglas decks....white with the rough elements.... Is that what gelcoat accomplishes?
