Parking with Jeep Wrangler

I have read some of the posts on the Wrangler and while I would never consider towing my boat with that - would it be insane to use it to get the boat in position in/out of my drive? It's a narrow entrance in and then widens and the road in front of my house is narrow and my neighbor probably won't like me driving across her yard :) I was thinking that the Jeep would be small enough to maneuver it into place..

It's a 21ft Rinker boat so definitely weighs more then the 2k wrangler limit :(

Thanks in advance

I move 2000# with my lawn tractor. The Wrangler won't care.

A front hitch on a jeep would be a awesome setup for moving a trailer.

you're jeep with do fine with moving it around the block. just don't try any real tows with it. the jeep is just soo short that braking is a real issue when trailering a large boat.

for example: a cherokee with the exact drivetrain as a wrangler can tow 3500 lbs.

good luck and have fun!

That's exactly what I have on the front of my '06 Wrangler Unlimited.

I tow a bass boat (1900lbs) and when I just want to move it around the yard I use the front hitch. Makes it real easy!

BTW, my Jeep has a 3500lb tow rating since it has the long wheel base and 4.0.

Front hitch on my Jeep, too. I had a front bumper built to my specs including a winch plate, d-rings brackets through-welded, closed tube, and the front hitch. It's the cats meow. I use my tractor as well...

I use to have a 23" CC that I moved around my yard, garage, etc., with my Wrangler all the time. I had a front mounted hitch on it which made it easy to put it wherever I wanted. My Wrangler is a 6 cylinder, but I bet you could also move it around with a 4 banger.

Thanks everyone..
Our Wrangler is a 6cyc - the challenge is the 3" lift with 33" tires - we have a drop down hitch for the back- I guess they would also sell them for the front?
In any case - we used it yesterday and it was much easier with the Wrangler then Tahoe

Yes but you'll probably have to order one. I think my front ballmount is an 8" drop. If you have a good hitch shop they might have one in stock with the drop you need but I doubt it...
