Smile Regular Minn Kota stand up to brackish sound waters?

I will be using mine on my small 12' boat on the back side of Hatteras Island in a couple of weeks but want to make sure that it's safe to do so. I figure the brackish sound water won't hurt it but I'd like someone to confirm that for me if they will.

Thanks,

I wouldn't think it would be an issue as long as you wash it down well when you're done. I wouldn't let it sit though, giver' a wash when you get home.

I have a 10 year old Minn Kota Endura 50 that's been fresh and saltwater used since new, still works fine.
