Default Mariner 15hp shaking on idle

i have got a 15hp mariner about 1979 when its idling the engine shakes left to right constantly when it gets to 3/4 throttle it tends to smooth out has anyone got any ideas??? I have replaced the points and condensors both plugs are sparking good

It sounds like it could be flooding at low speed or is dropping a cyl check it for spark while it is acting up

thanks laddies i have noticed a bit of oil in the water from exhaust and was wondering if running rich ill check spark plugs tommorow whilst running ive only just put new ones on the other week checked them tonight and none of them were black they where both still clean

i know this sounds stupid bit of a newbie question but flooding at low speed what would cause this wrong float setting??

Apparently these motor aren't known as a smooth idlers.

I've got the 25hp ver. and it sure aint no old Johnson when it comes to trolling
