Mercury ME5ML 2002 Tohatsu MFS5A2?

I have a Mercury 2002 ME5ML, which through exhaustive research I believe is a Tohatsu MFS5A2. Can anyone help verify this, as I need to order a remote control kit and do not want to invest extra unneccessary dollars to help keep "Mercury #1 on the water" and you know what I mean! Also, the kit parts for the Tohatsu MFS5A2 and MFS5B seem to be pretty much identical however, they have a different kit part number. Can either be used on the MFS5A2? Thanks!

The Tohatsu A2 went into production in 2002 and so in all probability the Mercury would be A2 compatable if it really is a 2002. The A2 is different the A and require different kits.

Thank you Elvin! My SN# 0R027489 falls in the 2002 production I guess. The breakdown for the ME5ML Merc kit is the exact breakdown picture in the Tohatsu MFS5A2 and MFS5B parts manuals. Obviously the contained kit part numbers are different between Merc and Tohatsu but everything seems to match. Any recommendations? Tthank you

If you think you have an A2 then get A2 compatable parts?
