Synthetic Gear Oil in a 1995 130 Johnson ? ok ?

I was wondering if someone can confirm that the newer Synthetic Lower Unit oil is ok in some of the older motors. I recently purchased OMC - HPF Synthetic Gear Oil from my local dealer. He no longer carries the older "Hi Vis" oil. I noticed when I filled the lower unit it is much thinner in consistency. Any comments ?

95 is not older, just broke in. 50's are older. you will be fine.

My '98 Johnny 150HP specifies the synthetic gear lube. Yours should do real well with. There are also some fine non-OMC gear Lubes as well
