Default How much oil in lower unit? Mercury 500 -69

Today when changing oil, i went confused..

Recent years, i never taked notice about how much oil it went into the gearhouse.

I do it like it´s supposed to be done, from the borrom to the top.

I can squeese in just about 7-8fl oz (2-2.5dl) of oil before it starts dripping out of the vent hole.
It´s almost a normal tube of oil that it takes.

For me, this seems to be way to little oil. Or is it correct?

Flushed the system several times, with air pressure and clean oil just to get the sh*t out of the system. But i still cannot get more than the 7-8oz into the gear.

So...case closed

When letting the engin rest for a couple of days, and let the old oil drip out with the plugs removed, i now could manage to get about 1½ tube of oil into it.

Before i neraly managed to get one tube into it.
