Default 115 Yamaha engine problem???

Hello Everyone..I have a question to ask that hopefully some of you have dealt with or have experienced in the past. I have a 1995 115 Yamaha that will only idle and go to a max of 3000 RPM's. After you push the throttle down she bogs and then immediately stalls if not brought back below 3000 rpms? I checked the fuel filter and it is not clogged and I also replaced the Fuel Oil seperator with no improvement. New sparkplugs had just been put in along with a lower unit oil replacement. This sounds like a fuel issue to me but Im not sure. Should I take apart the carbeurators and clean them or do they make a spray that I can just run through them? Could it be the fuel oil pump?Thermostat problem? Impeller problem? I tightened up all the clamps on the fuel oil lines to make sure they were air tight...Any help would be greatly appreciated...its almost peak of striper season here on the east coast and this problem is killing me!....Thanks!
Steve

You might start with checking the fuel pump. Its a simple check and would rule out at least one potential source of the problem.I am pretty sure if you do a search of "fuel pump" it will give you a checkout as well as similiar symptoms your engines experiencing.Good luck I don't check the site regulary (thankfully my 1997-115 hasn't had many problems lately) but will check back to see the fix or try to help you out with some other ideas.

Classic example of fuel restriction. There have been more posts on the cause and cure than any other subject. You need to start at the fuel tank and work forward until you find and cure before you blow the motor.
