hello everyone, i have a 1975 evinrude 70 hp motor. i've never had it on the water but i have ran the engine while it was connected to a garden hose. i didnt notice any water spewing out from the top / back of the motor but only from a small home down near the the lower unit. is this an indication my water pump could be bad or is this old style different from the rest. is there anyway to confirm the water pump is working ? thankyou ~ larry

hi think that's OK my 60hp is the same and runs OK now (after replacing the grommet at the top of the gear linkage.) as long as it's pumping from the pee tube. Lindsey
