Question What plugs for1997 Yamaha two stroke fuel injected 225 hp.

Does anyone know what the current recomended plugs are for this motor? Thanks

NGK brand...BR9HS-10...the dash 10 means they're pregapped to 40 thousandths

The Yamaha parts manual lists a NGK BR8HS-10 for a 1997 model 225 TLRV. Setting the correct gap and torquing the spark plug are very important. You need to provide the complete model number of your motor so that the information is correct.

the 3.1 uses the BR9's and the 2.6 225 used the BR8's, but in 97 the 2.6 was a carbed motor and the 3.1 was EFI.
always remember that in 97 the 225 was made in two versions that did not share much more than paint color and the HP rating.
full model number will tell us exactly what you have.
