My boat is moored in lake washington (fresh water lake) at a wooden pier. On the side of the boat there is a red little flakes just above the bottom paint and up the side of the hull that is impossible to remove. It looks exactley like red/maroon paint I can scratch it off with my nail but I tried some 3M buffing compound and that seemed to get some of it. I talked to a guy that has been in boating for about 31 years and he said its 100% A Organism and not paint. Any ideas of what this might be and how to remove it? Sorry if this post is kind of unclear
cheers
