1999 25HP Mercury gray plastic ball bearing fitting

Hello, and thank you in advance for your help.

I have a 1999 25hp Mercury outboard that I love to get out on the water and try to figure out this fishing thing. While going out yesterday it would not go in gear, so I got to looking and found that the gray plastic fitting at the end of the gear linkage had broken. I've done some searching, but have been unsuccessful in finding these parts. Any help is appreciated.

I've attached an image of the part (not yet broken, but cracked) since I really don't know what I'm talking about here..

Get your engine SN and take it to your local Mercury dealer. He will be able to get that piece of linkage for you.
You could probably find a Merc dealer online, but the shipping will probably be more than the part.
