Easy Way to Clean Under the Cover?

Whats a good way to clean salt deposits off of the engine? My honda has some hard to reach places and I don't think it would be safe to just Hose it down....
Is there some mirical product out there that can be sprayed on, but does not harm plastics or electrical comps?
