I just picked up a 1979 Grew 1850, the reason I bought it was it was cheap and in excellent condition and runs like new. I tried looking it up on the web and to my surprise I could find absolutely nothing on this model. Does anybody know anything about this model????

I have a 1980 Grew 185. Mine's a closed bow sterndrive with the Mercruiser 470 engine. It's got about 3500 hours on it and we've owned it from new.
They came with closed or open bows and were built in Ontario. The hull is rock solid and they had an option for a V8 with 225 hp. The boat responds really well to the addition of a hydrofoil on the sterndrive leg. Anything by Grew from that timeframe should be well built.
