i have a 1988 mercury 70 hp 2 stroke engine and the 2nd cylinder is not sparking. i replaced the spark plugs, wires, and coils. i even switched parts around to see if it was just bad spark plugs, wires, and coils. still the same cylinder is still not sparking. its runs on 2 of the cylinders like crap for about 10 min. i shut it off and let sit for about 5-10 min and all three cylinders fire. i am trying to do all the work myself with out having to bring it to the shop and spend a ton of money just for diagnostics, and repair. if anybody knows what could be the problem or help to figure out the diagnostics and repair that would be greatly appreciated.

Flare, Go on the CDI web site or the Dolphin Marine services web site and find the troubleshooting procedure for your motor. It will tell you if it is the stator or switchbox.
