Hi,, all !
I have a problem I hope some of your know the answer of. Last summer I re-power my boat with a brand new Mercruiser 4.3 MPI engine. I also managed to get hold of a SmartCraft SC1000 Speedometer and Tacometer on eBay. The instruments are hooked up and work nicely except that it doesn't display fuel information.
I get the following error message on the SC1000: ERROR FUEL LEVEL,, It doesn't help to recalibrate the gauge. The fuel sender is a Quicksilver, brand new.
The company who installed the engine is a "generic" motor shop, not a Merc dealer and have no ideas about Smartcraft.
When I look at the engine, the two cables that comes from the fuel sender is connected to the engine harness to a connector which is labeled FUEL LEAD (?) The paddle wheel/sea temp is connected to the connector called PADDLE WHEEL/AIR TEMP.. (this is working.)
My understanding is that the fuel sender is not correctly connected to the SmartCraft system,, Does anybody know where the two cables from the fuel sender should connect to the engine harness?
Regards
