Guys,

I just bought a 1987 Mariner tower 90hp. I have been told that this is the same engine as the larger hp outboards, but it is "choked down". Any truth to this? Is there many parts that are interchangable between this engine and the larger ones? Could it be made into a 115 or larger it I ever had major engine problems and would have to replace things anyways?

The only differance in it and the 115 is the engine block, reeds and carb jetting. The ports are timed differantly in the block
