How do I change the belt on 3.0L

I've got an 88' Wellcraft 17.5' openbow with the 3.0L 4 banger. I'd like to change the belt when I do the tune-up this year. It would appear that the only way to get the belt on and off would be if you disconnected the front motor mount and jacked up the whole engine. It's in storage right now or I'd provide pictures. What is the correct(easier) way to change a belt?

Ayuh,....

Just remove te 2 bolts on the Portside of the motor mount,+ a 2" spacer will come out of that side for changing the Belt.......

I'll have to look at that more closely next time I pull the boat out. Thanks, I knew there had to be an easier way.

Bond-O, I just looked on mine but didnt see that spacer?
Cpt Morgan, i find the easiest way is to trim the motor so it is up, then lay a 2x4 across the bilge under the front of the oil pan, then lower the engine again till all the weight is taken off the motor mounts. Then its just remove the four bolts holding on the motor/trim brackets and that whole unit will rotate forward so you can access the belt. Easy.
