I have a 1972 and a 1970_85hp rude. The carbs on the 1972 cannot be adjusted but they can on the 1970 model. Which do you guys think is the better carbs?

Fixed jets, all other things being equal, that's why they stuck with them all these years.

Some adjustable carbs can be turned into fixed jets and vice versa.

I like motors with fixed high speed jets just because having them means one less thing to have to fool with. They represent the best of mechanical gadgets - something that can simply be screwed properly in place and then left alone!
