In the back of my van. Personal transport would ALWAYS be my fisrt choice.
Sterndrive Engineering, the company that makes the complete Alpha aftermarket drives, ships their complete drives in two halves. One box for the top, one for the bottom, due to the weight involved. I'd do it that way, if UPS or the like could actually accept it that way. If they still wouldn't ship it, I'd call some LTL carrier and ship it completely assembled.
