Measuring for shaft size.

Do you measure the length from the bottom of the engine to the cavitation plate to tell if it is a long shaft? 21" should be long and 16" should be short right?

measure from where the motor sit on transom. to plate above prop. 15 is short, 20 is long, then you have 25 for ex long. they are even making 30's in large motors. the new 350 yammy and mercs the motor is almost 8 feet tall,

Hey TD,

Funny you mentioned the height of those 350's. Was at the dealership the other day and stood next to a pair of 350's mounted on a sweeeeeet Pursuit. The things looked more like buildings than motors. Yes, they are big.
And did I mention expensive?
