Default no fire on 76 mercury 3 cylinder

I have no fire on any cylinder on my 1976 mercury 650 3 cylinder. I performed the test as described in the {www.outboardparts.com/mercury/troubleshooting/printguide} guide. I have the 332-4796 switchbox. The coil fired everytime I touched the wire I connected to the blue wire on the switchbox to ground.
How can I test the trigger?

so if the trigger was good, the coil wouldn't fire?
Or the test I performed ruled out everything except the trigger?

thanks for the info.

Thanks, that is the test I performed. I guess that test is to check the operation of the switchbox?
So the only thing left is the trigger that would cause no fire on any cylinder.
The engine is actually a 1975(4263525) I was mistaken on thinking it was a 1976. I found the trigger assembly online for about $250 WOW!
Does anyone know of a cheaper source?

Thanks again..

So, are the housing assemblies rebuildable?
Can I take it apart and repair it?

So, my only option is to call around and see if anyone has an R332-4797 trigger assembly laying around. Does anyone have one laying around?
Thanks for all the great info thus far..

I found a place called outboard exchange in Connecticut. They shipped the part(332-4797) to me, it was $190. I installed the part and I still have no fire on any cylinder. The part was used and they said it was a working part.
Is there anything else that I could be missing?

Thanks everyone for all the info..

If you test as the CDI test describes and it say the trigger is bad then someone sold you a bad trigger.
