HI! I'm trying to get a few questions answered if possible. I recently acquired this yamaha 90 and it didn't come with any sort of manual or anything. It runs fine except at idle where it will idle then shut off. Before it shuts off the bottom (of the three cylinders) will start making a hissing sound. It makes that sound on occasion while running also but seems to do it far more when at idle. The sound isn't a constant hissing but more a short burst. Everything seems to be in good shape on it so I don't know what it could be. Any ideas? Also what type plugs and what gap (or do they come pre-gapped) should I be using? Thanks in advance for the help,

Rick

Re: Yamaha 90 TLRS (hissing and stall)

sounds like 1 or more cylinders are running lean, will make it cough and shake and stall.
plugs are B8hs-10, they come pre-gapped but should be checked, BR8HS-10 can also be used.
gap sets at .039"
