i have a 48 Spl evinrude but i dont know what year it is the numbers are worn off on the sticker is ther another place inside the shell that the number maybe also i have an old bass boat that i dont know the year of the only thing i can find on it is the name terry tourney on the side any help is always appreciated

Look for the welch plug. It is about the size of a quarter,and round like one too, and will have the model number on it. Post that number for us. Look on the top rear of the motor.

For the boat, look on the outside of the transom, top starboard (right facing the back) corner

the numbers i found on motor are E48ESLUCUS and below that is C1561331

That is a 1987 Electric Start, 60? V, Trim and Tilt Evinrude then.

"60? V"?? - it's an inline 2 cylinder I think. Most models have LU as L for 20" and U for manual tilt.
