I am going thu a 220 for a friend and have removed the carbs to go thru them. He told me it idles bad but I have only run the motor on muffs to warm up and do a compression test. While going thru the carbs I figured I would just check the rest of the motor. I tested the recirc valves and they flow in both directions. I tested the nipples in the block and what looks like check valves on the intake.

Are there recirc check valves in the block and the intake on this motor?

How do they come out? (are they press fit or threaded?)

Ishopmarine shows them all as check valves ant they are not too expensive.

look at the yamaha web page, the ones in the block are check valves, pressed in, the ones on the intake, best I remember, are nipples.

Thanks rodbolt

I figured it out. There are 2 check valves for each cylinder. There is one in the intake that has 2 nipples on it and the one in the block that has one nipple. All the block ones are shot. Some have rotted nipples but all are missing the check ball. I hope it is a plastic of rubber disc cause they are nowhere to be found. The intake ones all work. All are press fit and you can twist them with pliers to pull them out. Off to the dealer I go.
