When I put my motor into gear it sort of grinds its way, is this normal or are there adjustements I can make? Its a 200 hp Merc outboard 2 stroke. Thanks

No -- it's called "operator error". Stop sliding it into gear. When you go into forward or reverse do it with authority. By that I mean snap it into gear. Taking your time shifting means the clutch dogs are grinding against each other and in a short time you will be posting here asking why your engine pops out of gear.
