Hello,
I am installing new exhaust manifolds and need to put in new studs. Do I use Loc-Tite or Never-Seez on the side that goes into the head? Do I just put the stud in hand tight into the head and then torque as normal on the manifold nuts?

I am using quicksilver perfect seal on EVERYTHING..... never seize is called ever seize on a boat as I was told NOT to use it.

Thanks for the replies.

But I am a little confused now about the use of Never-Sieze. Sounds like it is OK to use on starter and exhaust manifold bolts (does that include riser bolts?) but probably not for other applications. True? What should be used in other places?

True.....
Use perfect seal or it's equivalent for places the bolts will come in contact with water or coolant.....
Starter bolts & exhaust bolts are the most likely to freeze or rust in place & break....;)
