I just converted my 1978 25hp johnson to electric start. The starter that was sent to me does not mesh well with the flywheel. At first it worked but now the teeth on the starter are begining to wear and it want even spin the flywheel. The starter wheel has, i think 9 teeth on it. Someone told me that this year motor also had a starter with 11 teeth on it. Is this my problem? Even when it did work the teeth never did mesh they just hit tip to tip, but it would spin it. Thanks in advance!
