Does anyone know if the smartcraft sensors are likely to sound a warning for running too high revs while in neutral? I thought I would just check the engine out after it had had an oil and filter change and no problems at tickover but at 2300ish the smartcraft warning sounds. I thought it was showing me an oilcan symbol, but having looked at the smartcraft book the position of the symbol would imply it's 'engine malfunction' The engineer who did the work has gone away until Wednesday now.
The engine is a 115 efi 4stroke It's done 35 hours and I got the mercury dealer to do an oil and filter change.
I've never tried more than about 1200 rpm in neutral before and I know you are not supposed to rev high in neutral.
