Need quick answer!! Currently Workin on boat and im stuck!

What is this screw on the top left side of the carburator?? I am trying to make my idle a little slower.....i have been messing with this screw and noticed my idle lower a bit; however, if it is the fuel/air mixture screw i want blow my engine up when i take it out tommorow id i was mabey 1/8" turns off????? Thanks everybody who has helped me!!! I am a newbie to motors!

*I have a force 1996 75 HP............

Yes that is the idle MIXTURE screw.
Ot should be 1 turn out from lightly seated.
Do not turn that screw in to slow the idle.

Idle is set after you set the mixture.
Suggest you get a Clymer repair manual.

YEP! Playing with those screws is a fast way to melt pistons if you get them too lean. One turn out from lightly seated is usually fairly close to where the engine wants to run.
