Hooking up a RPM guage??

What do i do if i want to hook up a RPM gauge to my boat?? I do not currently have one and i want to install one!!! HOW DO I DO IT????

You didn't mention what motor you have..... If it's an outboard, I'd suggest getting that brand Tach and go by thier instructions. Some of them have pulse signals the tach has to read. If you have a inboard or I/O you can get one from your engine manufacturer and again, thier instructions. If you go after market, then you'd need thier instructions. Some aftermarket ones have fancy hook-ups. Basically your signal (sender) lead on the tach, will connect to the coil +.

Some Force engines required a special tach because of the stator they used. Don't know if yours is one of them. Check the Teleflex and Faria web sites for tachs for your engine. You can buy a tach right here on iBoats. Click the Marine Store button at the top of the page and look for Tachometers.
