Breaking in a Yamaha

After the ten hours break in on a new motor 8hp do I need to take it back to the dealer for maintance? or can I change the oil,gear oil. They said I should bring it back for the first time so they can change the oil?

P.s. Im glad I went with the Yamaha it's a nice motor

The oil should be changed and the filter too, but you can do it yourself and save some $$.

I guess we are talking about a 4 stroke.

take it in, to make sure warranty is followed.
