I just bought an Evinrude Sportwin. The engine has no decals etc showing the HP of the engine. We think it might be a 1963 10 hp but are unsure. Maybe one of the experts on this board can help us out.

There is a serial number plate on the left side of the engine below the throttle arm. The number stamped in that plate is:

10302D C387712

Any help is appreciated.

10302 is the model number, Steve, and it is, indeed, a 1963 10HP.

Be sure to use a 24:1 fuel mix.
