1999 - 115 Mercury Starting
Greetings, I recently bought a 1999 Triton with a 115 Mercury. The guy I bought it from said he had a problem a couple of times with the motor losing prime when he was idling. I took it out today for the first time and 10 minutes into the ride at full throttle, the motor quit. After checking the bulb, it was soft, so I assumed the motor lost its prime. However, when I went to start it, it would not start. After checking a couple of other items (batteries, cables, etc.), the only way I could get the motor to crank was when the key was pushed in (full choke). It will not crank simply by turning the key, the key must be pushed in. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated. Thanks,
