what trolling motor fuse

just about cought on fire last weekend when I kicked my trolling motor plug so I think it is a good idea to put an in line fuse and buy a bigger fire extinguisher. question is what amp fuse do I need? what end to I put it battery or plug end and last goes on the positive side right? and I guess you need to now its a motorguide 67 lb 24volt greatwhite

Most trollers use a circuit breaker, not a fuse. Most of the circuit breakers I've seen were 40 Amp.

wow that was quick, yeah thats what i've been reading, but what end should I put it on to keep from melting my wires in the haul?

A circuit breaker should be installed at the postive terminal of the battery.
