has anyone on here sprayed gelcoat,is it anything like spraying automotive paints.im doing a transom repair and i have to spray some gelcoat,any help would sure be appreciated, thanks guys

It's nothing like paint, it's much thicker and won't level or flow like paint will, it also neads to be applied much thicker so you can sand it smooth after it gets hard, then buff it to get a good gloss. It helps to add wax solution so the surface will dry tack free, there are also patchaid type products that will help it spray, flow and cure better. You can find them at fiber glass supply stores.
